Polls shows Maine split on effort to repeal gay marriage law
As the television advertisements, e-mail campaigns and grassroots efforts on both sides of the gay marriage law repeal effort go into full swing in advance of November voting, residents of Maine are today evenly split on the issue.According to a poll released Friday by the polling organization Research 2000 and the political Web site dailykoz.com, 48 percent those surveyed said they'd vote to repeal the law and 46 percent said they would vote to keep it on the books.
